Tina & Billy began their journey to replacing their kitchen like so many. Having visited a number of high street kitchen retailers they were left deflated and underwhelmed, feeling as if they had to know the solutions to all their issues. Giving it one last stab they visited us in the hope we would be able to provide them with solutions and provide the statement they were looking for.

When visiting their home it was clear that they had plenty of storage, just in the wrong places. They also had lots of surface space, just broken up with appliances and dressers. They were open to ideas and wanted to be inspired. After our through consultation we returned to the showroom to create the design to win them over.

We took the bold move of removing their built in storage cupboard which was bulky and taking up a huge amount of space. It also disrupted the lines of the light and provide very little practical benefit. With this gone the space instantly became more open and inviting. We then blocked in the existing entrance door to add practical and well situated appliance housing and storage in an otherwise awkward nook. Replacing this entrance is an extra wide opening between the kitchen and dining area, joining the kitchen to the rest of the home.

With this new space we took the approach to maximise low level storage. This enabled us to keep the space bright and open despite using such a dark blue in contrast. To keep this space as low maintenance and non fussy as possible we created a number of feature areas out of Quartz. By encasing the peninsula in quartz with the lowered floating breakfast bar the space expands and draws you in. This is mimicked on the back wall with quartz shelf and feature wall lighting. This has enabled Tina & Billy to add character and personality into their new kitchen whilst keeping the space open and neutral.
