Fenton in Seal Grey and Soft Grey by Lima Kitchens Ltd

This beautiful skinny shaker kitchen was completed with some careful thought on reconfiguring the existing space. Proving there is not always the need to stretch to a full extension. Having visited a number of national retailers our clients decided that the quality of the product was not quite good enough. Ideally they wanted to support a local business who would be able to offer greater flexibility. After a quick search, and a little research they found Lima and were soon undertaking our design process.

The existing space was extremely disjointed and dark. No kitchen for a family or people who enjoy entertaining. Discussing the possibilities on how the flow of the house could be improved Darren & Shaelene settled on removing the half wall in the kitchen and joining this to the dining room. This has allowed for them to open out the back of the house. Joining the outside space with the indoors. It was key for their new kitchen to be organised storage and easily accessed. At the core of this project there was the brief of creating an elegant space with excellent value.

We achieved this by including lots of larders, shelving units and integrating everything from washing machines and bins to extraction and ovens. The central prep island over-looking the garden is a what pulls you in before opening up to the sense of light and space. They now regularly eat as a family at the dining table, something which was a rare occurrence. Resulting in spending lots of extra time together bonding. This beautiful space is the hub of the home to be enjoyed by all the family.
